Lionel Messi is an Argentinian footballer who was born on 24/06/1987. Other than playing for the Argentinian national team along with being their captain, he formerly played for FCB. Messi’s career spans over two decades, being one of the greatest footballers ever. In total, he spent 21 years at Barcelona having joined their academy in the year 2,000 at just the young age of 13.

Messi made his FCB senior competitive debut with the club on 16/10/2004 at the age of seventeen and has been with them until he recently left the club after twenty one years, as he become his own free agent.

Some of his awards are six FIFA Ballon d’Or, FIFA World Cup Golden Ball in 2014, FIFA World Player in 2009, seven Copa del Rey, and ten La Liga. Looking at his stats while appearing 778 times with FCB, they include 672 goals, 288 assists, and a shot accuracy of 47%.

The current president of FIFA is Gianni Infantino who has been president since his election at the Extraordinary FIFA Congress on 26 February 2016. He was born in Brig, Switzerland and attended the University of Fribourg

Gianni is concentrated on enacting many reforms to FIFA. Firstly, in June 2015 when he put into effect governance reforms. Secondly, the Forward Programme which he introduced in December 26 which aims to increase the investment placed by FIFA toward football development.

Thirdly, in May of 2018, he conceptualised a Women’s Football Division and also changed FIFA’s history by forming FIFA’s first-ever Women’s Football Strategy. Lastly, in July of 2020 he revealed the FIFA Football for schools. It’s an ambitious strategy for the purpose of reaching over 700 million school kids across the globe, to promote both education and life skill lessons through football.

Ever since being named President, Gianni has placed focus on transforming FIFA into becoming an organisation of accountability, professionalism, modernisation, trustworthiness, and credibility.

FIFA is considered the most prestigious sports organisation in the world. For example, comparing FIFA with the NBA (National Basketball Association), FIFA has more of a global reach and fans than FIFA.

FIFA was established on the 21^st of May, 1904. The founders were seven nations; Belgium, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. They started FIFA to start friendly relations between each other.

In the early 20^th century, leaders throughout Europe, with the leadership of Robert Guerin, a French journalist, shaped FIFA’s future in Paris.
